This is my second and final week interning for The Hampton Roads Show. I switched and started working in the booth during the show. This is where I really want to be, producing and directing shows. I have learned a lot from watching what really happens during a live shooting for a show. These producers and directors have to be able to switch there plans at a drop of a hat when guest do not show up. Being able to be able to observe what these men and women do in the booth has allowed me to better realize this is what I want to do.

Also, this week the Calder Cup made a special appearance on the show. This was a great experience for me since I do have a strong passion for sports.

This entire internship has exceed all my expectations and I cant wait to experience even more. I am sad to leave all the great people from The Hampton Roads Show but I am looking forward to visiting other departments.

One of the lessons I have learned so far at WAVY is that in the media you must always think 5 steps ahead and be prepared for any and everything. In return I am applying that to all aspects of my life. I am enjoying working with the HR show and meeting some great people at WAVY; local chefs; and directors of prominent organizations. Last week, I got the chance to shadow the producer and director and this week I am shadowing the floor director. Also, working with Arianne A., co-host of the HR Show, Tracie Paige, the Face of Fox, and the other HR show intern, Allyson has been great. They are all such nice people; we laugh and joke throughout the work day and to me that not only makes a good work environment but a great learning environment for me.

When we were at the WAVY tent for the Harbor Fest this past weekend, there were so many people sharing with us how much they loved WAVY and what they loved about it. It was very rewarding to be reminded that I am apart of something else that is so much bigger than myself.
