July 4th, 2009 at 8:48 pm by Cheryl Nelson under Weather
Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day. The weather looks great for fireworks this evening. Partly-mostly cloudy. Temperatures 75-80. SW wind 5-10 mph.
This photo is from Bruce and Barb in Colington Harbour, Kill Devil Hills, NC overlooking the Albemarle Sound.

Bruce and Barb say:

“The OBX Beach Boxers (Daisy, left & her Dad, Kody) want everybody to have a safe and wonderful Saturday holiday, and to remember our freedom and those who protect it. The OBX weather looks great for a dip in the ocean, sound, or just having a terrific picnic with friends & family!”

Happy 4th!

Are You Ready For Some Heat?

June 17th, 2009 at 1:00 pm by Cheryl Nelson under Weather
It has been cool lately due to the easterly onshore wind flow and cloud cover.  As winds turn into the southwest over the next few days, temperatures will begin to warm up.  In fact, temperatures will likely soar well into the 90s by Saturday.  Be sure to stay hydrated and stay cool.  Remember to keep your pets cool too and be sure they have plenty of water.
Thanks to Barb and Bruce for sending us this photo of their OBX Boxers, Kody and Daisy near Roanoke Island, N.C..

This One is for the Dogs

May 18th, 2009 at 4:53 pm by Cheryl Nelson under Weather

After a wet 36 hours for many of us, improvement is on the way.  Look for more sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday with gradually warming temperatures (after a chilly night tonight).

Thanks to Barb and Bruce for sending us these pictures from Kill Devil Hills.  The pictures show the “OBX Beach Boxers,” Kody (left) and Daisy.  7.00″ of rain has fallen in Colington Harbour over the past two weeks!

Cute dogs!  :)
