Sunny Again Today

We are going to have another nice day across Hampton Roads for our Memorial Day weekend. Today, high temperatures will be in the 80s with a gentle wind at 5-10mph. For the beach, be prepared for an afternoon sea breeze to develop. That sea breeze will keep temperatures in the lower 70s this afternoon.

High Pressure In Control

High Pressure In Control

A large area of high pressure is still in control for our area. That will allow for sinking air which will inhibit the formation of any rainfall for today. The humidity will also be comfortable, but it will increase tomorrow as our highs will be in the upper 80s. We will see the chance for rain increase by Tuesday afternoon.

We are still a week away from the Atlantic Hurricane Season beginning, but in the Eastern Pacific, it has already started. The first Hurricane of the year has formed, and it is a strong one!

Hurricane Amanda (Cat 4)

Hurricane Amanda (Cat 4)

As of this morning Hurricane Amanda was a category 4 storm with 140mph sustained winds. This storm will turn towards Mexico today and weaken before it makes landfall. This storm won’t affect us, but its a good reminder that Hurricane Season is coming soon and it will be time to keep our eyes on the Atlantic.

Another reminder, the week long sales tax holiday starts today for any hurricane preparedness related items. Find more here:

Have a great rest of your weekend!
