Thunderstorms Are Possible TomorrowApril 14th, 2014 at 9:54 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
Today is looking like a great day, we will see partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 70s. As the area of low pressure gets closer, our wind speeds will increase. Today we will see winds from the south at 15-20mph. Gusts could reach 30mph today. Tonight, along with the winds, temperatures will stay mild with lows in the 60s. Now, lets talk about the rain chances. We’ll stay dry today, but tonight scattered showers will be possible ahead of the storm system. Tomorrow morning, we will also see a chance for scattered showers. If we can stay cloudy and cool, then our severe weather chances will remain low. If we see sunshine, then the threat will increase.
The storms will stay off to our west around midday tomorrow.
Going in to tomorrow evening, the cold front will sweep through the area with temperatures going from the 70s to the 30s by Wednesday morning. This strong cold front may be able to produce strong storms that could create damaging wind gusts and hail.
Behind the line of storms we will be colder with highs in the 50s on Wednesday.
Tetrad of Lunar Eclipses Begins Tonight
The first of four lunar eclipses begins tonight, sadly the forecast looks to be cloudy, but it still may be worth a shot to get up and see it:
There are three more coming up. The scientists at NASA put together a great video about how rare a tetrad is:
