Bigger Surf & Sunshine for our WeekendAugust 24th, 2013 at 8:56 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
The ECSC is wrapping up this weekend in Virginia Beach and there should be bigger waves today and tomorrow for the surfers.
Waves should be 3-4ft tomorrow, but they will be choppy thanks to a northeast wind at 15mph. Remember, with the bigger surf there is a higher risk for rip currents. For more about rip currents go here.
This north wind is helping us dry out this weekend too. For today we should see high temperatures close to 80 degrees as a cold front continues to move south.
This morning many of our low temperatures were close to 64 degrees. Tomorrow morning will be just as cool with lows approaching 60 in a few areas inland. Tomorrow we should see sunny skies and a high of about 79 in the afternoon. Eventually, by Tuesday, the warm air will return with highs back near 88.
Enjoy the dry weekend, it is our first dry weekend in 6 weeks!
