A Hot Weekend With A Chance For RainJuly 20th, 2013 at 9:00 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
Temperatures are still looking hot again today across Hampton Roads. Today will be the 5th day in a row we have had temperatures in the 90s for a high. If you are going to out and about today at one of the areas Farmers Markets (see below) temperatures will be close to 90 at Noon! There is some relief in sight, but nothing major.
A cold front will shift southward this afternoon moving across West Virginia. They could see some severe weather today. By the time it makes it here it is expected to be pretty weak. I do not expect any type of widespread coverage for thunderstorms tomorrow so our severe threat will remain low. Temperatures tomorrow will still likely climb to 90 degrees in the afternoon.
Scattered Showers and thunderstorms are still being picked up on Future Trak for tomorrow, especially in the afternoon. We could see the front stick around next week keeping the chances for rain around through Tuesday.
The weather pattern across the Atlantic is remaining calm for the next week ahead keeping conditions flat. A 1-2ft set is possible towards low tide at some of the better breaks.
*Cities with Farmers Markets Open on Weekends (Open Saturday unless otherwise noted):
- Virginia Beach
- Hampton (Sunday’s)
- Elizabeth City
- Williamsburg (Merchant’s Square)
Have a great weekend!
