A Nice Sunrise, Rainfall Is Coming To An End

July 13th, 2013 at 9:45 am by under Weather

With a mix of sunshine and clouds this morning we were treated with a nice sunrise across Hampton Roads.

For today we had a quick moving squall of rain track across the area. Most of us only saw around 0.5 – 1.0″ of rainfall from it. We could see a few stray showers until midday today.

This afternoon the pattern is going to shift towards to what it was like last week.

Front stays to our west.

Front stays to our west.

The rain chance will once again move back towards Richmond and areas in central Virginia over the next 24 hours. This will also mean we will see our temperatures rise back up to the 90s by next week. If you have any plans this afternoon or on Sunday that require being outside temperatures will be in the upper 80s with partly cloudy skies. For early next week it looks like there won’t be much change to this pattern with a Bermuda High pressure keeping most to all of us dry.

Weekend Surf Update:

Any surfers wanting to get back in the water this weekend might get a few waves to catch this afternoon.

Wave Heights this afternoon.

Waves of 1-3ft will be possible for the Oceanfront (Near the better breaks) this afternoon. 2-3ft waves for the OBX. Keep in mind we are going to see onshore winds today so that may add bump to the surface of the waves. The swell is expected to quickly dissipate tomorrow.

Enjoy your Saturday!
