Chantal Is No Longer A Tropical StormJuly 10th, 2013 at 5:04 pm by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
What we have left with Chantal is clusters of thunderstorms and no defined central circulation.
Since this storm is no longer a tropical storm the National Hurricane Center will stop issuing a forecast fan predicting where it will go. The track is still expected to make a turn to the North over the next few days going in to the weekend. This storm is running in to shear which is going to weaken it even further over the next 24 hours. Shear is when you have a change in wind speed and or wind direction with height. (High shear is when there is a greater change)
It does not look like the remnants of this storm will impact Hampton Roads.
