Heat & Humidity Continues, Surf Update For the WeekendJuly 5th, 2013 at 12:09 pm by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
A persistent and blocking high pressure is going to continue sitting offshore to our east over this weekend. This pattern should mean we will stay dry over the next few days.
The forecast high temperatures for this weekend should stay in the low-90s and we should stay dry with all of the heavy rain west of Richmond and Raleigh. With this pattern wind speeds will stay around 10mph from the south. That high pressure will begin to fade away going in to next week which will bring back the chance for PM scattered thunderstorms.
Any outdoor plans should be good this weekend, just don’t forget to wear sunscreen as the UV Index will be Extreme at an 11.
It doesn’t look like we will see much surf this weekend so bring out the gear for the small waves.
The wave height model keeps things pretty flat for this weekend. 1-2ft waves is what we should expect this weekend across the Oceanfront and the OBX. The tropics are remaining quiet for the foreseeable future.
