With the warm day today and the warm temperatures expected tomorrow we are adding to the fuel for potential thunderstorms. Tomorrow evening a cold front is expected to track in to our area which could spawn a few strong thunderstorms.

The biggest risk is for damaging wind gusts and hail. Isolated tornadoes are always a possible when severe weather occurs.

The cold front will stay off to our west and likely pass through around midnight going in to Sunday. Any storms that develop ahead of the line could be severe since they will have access to more heat and moisture. The latest high res NAM (18Z) has a line of showers passing through close to Noon.

If we get rain too early before that 4pm – Sunset time-frame that would help to diminish the chances for severe weather.

At this point we will watch the models and wait till we get closer. I will be on air tomorrow morning from 6-8am with the latest forecast!
