LMF: The Blue MileApril 26th, 2013 at 12:04 pm by Kyle Bloom under THRS Live Music
Happy Friday everybody! A relatively less hectic one than last week, which is always good when you’re in the news business. Jazz trio The Blue Mile was our Live Music Friday featured artist today. They are set to release their debut full length album next month and will be performing next Tuesday at the Terrace at the Founders Inn and next Friday at Fresh Tapas and Tonics in Virginia Beach. If you missed their performance on the show, as always, I have you covered:
A little news happened this past week that pretty much not only shocked me but to pretty much everyone else. James Steele was let go as Program Director at 96X. If you’re a local musician or a supporter of local music, you know that James was an integral part of of getting the locals on the airwaves and in the rotation along side with the major national players. He was the one who gave the green light for fantastic Local Music Show (Sunday at 11p) and undoubtedly a major force in getting The Last Bison to the national stage. We wish James nothing but the best in the future and thank him for what he has done for local music. Thanks James.
Speaking of The Last Bison, I’m very pleased to announce that they will be stopping by for an exclusive web performance next Thursday, May 2. They just wrapped up the first leg of their Inheritance tour and will be performing their first hometown show since the release of Inheritance Sunday, May 19 at the Norfolk Botanical Garden as part of the Virginia Arts Festival. You can catch their exclusive web performance here on the LMF blog, WAVY.com and TheHamptonRoadsShow.com Thursday, May 2 at 12p.
That’s all for me today. Have an awesome weekend and get out there and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
