Still Dry For A Bit.

April 3rd, 2013 at 8:11 am by under Weather

We had some nice weather yesterday.  High temperatures were in the 50s, but there may have been a couple of 60s inland.  Today we will see fair skies and highs once again in the 50s.  It’s very dry outside with dew points (a measure of moisture) in the 20s and 30s.  High pressure is in control of the weather for today and tomorrow, but there is an area of low pressure across the Gulf states that will be trekking on through in the next 48 hours.

The low will steadily head northeast during that time.  We will get some overrunning precipitation by late Thursday night.  The rain is really expected to pick up by the pre-dawn hours of Friday.  Heavy rain and a few thunderstorms will be possible from 3am until about Noon on that day.  This could make for a very messy commute during the morning.  Good thing the traffic has been light this week due to some Spring Breakers off of school or their parents off work.

We are looking at 1-1.5″ of rain. Up to 2″ may even be possible.  I’ll get more specific with that tomorrow.  Behind the system we are looking good for the rest of the weekend. Highs will be in the 50s on Saturday with partly cloudy skies. Mostly sunny on Sunday with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.  The warmth will remain into the middle of next week.
