Grab the Umbrella!March 24th, 2013 at 9:16 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
We have some rain on the way, and its going to stick around for the next few days. Today it will be the most steady and also the heaviest.
We should see the rain start across the Southside cities close to Noon today. Around 1-2pm for the Peninsula, then close to 2-3pm for the E. Shore and Mid Peninsula. We will see the rain continue all in to the afternoon and evening as temperatures remain stuck and close 45 degrees. The wind is also going to stay strong from the east wind at 10-20mph and gusts near 30mph today.
Tomorrow morning the steady rain should stop, but we will still see the scattered off and on showers in to the afternoon. There is also a chance for the Northern Neck and possibly near the Mid-Peninsula to see a mixture tomorrow as well. No accumulations are expected, but the cold north to west wind will surly make it feel like a winter day.
We really won’t see a ton of rain from this event, but a solid 1/2″ is likely by Monday evening.
Over the next few days temperatures are going to stay cool with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s from a broad trough that will keep slipping cold Canadian air across Hampto Roads. Spring temperatures in the 60s are still 1-2+ weeks away.
Stay dry and have a great Sunday!
