We are going to go through a big swing in temperatures this weekend. This morning a line of showers is moving through the area, but the rain is traveling around 50mph so it won’t last past noon. In the afternoon we should see clearing skies for areas around Williamsburg and south. That clearing should give us a chance to really warm up this afternoon.
We should see a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon. The more sun we get, the warmer it will be. This warm spell is not going to last long though. Tonight that cold front is expected to pass by which might bring a few rumbles of thunder. Then the wind will switch out of the northeast bringing our temperatures back to the mid 40s tomorrow for highs.
St. Patrick’s Day this year will be colder than last year when we had highs in the mid-60s. For the Shamrock Marathon on Sunday we will likely see cloudy skies with morning temperatures near 44 degrees. Scattered Showers are also possible.
In Nags Head for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade; showers are possible, but it will likely be a cool and cloudy day with temperatures near 46 for the parade. Dress warm!
We might rebound a bit on Monday and Tuesday, but with warm air moving back in, we’ll likely see scattered showers.
Have a good/lucky weekend!
