Friday is here and I heard great things about the Mae show last night. Jacob just made his flight from New York and made it to the venue just in time. Tonight’s show is SOLD OUT, so if you’re one of the lucky ones make sure you get there early to hear Over The Ocean, a fantastic non-indiepop group that will knock your socks off. I wish I could be there but I’ll be busy in Daddy-ville probably watching Jake and The Neverland Pirates. That’s how I roll.
Even though it’s a little chilly outside, we decided to bring a little taste of the islands in the studio with the reggae sounds of RastaMiles. A Norfolk based group that first got together back in 2010, recently released their debut album, I Revolutionary. They will be performing tomorrow night at Capt’n Ron’s Bar and Grill off of Chesapeake Blvd. in Norfolk. They are also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Band in the 2013 Virginia Reggae Awards, so go throw them a vote and while you’re there, click on Best Media and throw me one as well. If you missed their performance on the show, here it is in it’s entirety:
If you’re one of my Facebook friends than you probably saw my post yesterday about something I’m working on. While everything is confirmed, I’m not quite ready to announce it…at least not today. I will say it will involve Ambassadors and this very blog. I’ll probably announce the details on my Twitter account this weekend. It’s going to be good.
Sunday night, I’ll be attending The Last Bison’s Inheritance Listening Party, where I will get to listen to one of the most anticipated albums of the year. I’m really looking forward to it and if I’m allowed, I’ll give you a little recap next week. Their album drops Tuesday, March 5th on Republic Records.
Have a great weekend and I’ll catch up with you next week. Get out there and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
