Cold and Windy with More Snow TodayFebruary 17th, 2013 at 9:08 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
Waking up to another sunrise was a treat again this morning, but it is even colder outside! Temperatures are below freezing across Hampton Roads.
Both VDOT and NCDOT have been reporting good driving conditions this morning, but be careful in areas around Suffolk and also spots in Southern Virginia Beach/Chesapeake down in to North Carolina near Currituck. Some of the side streets may have some patchy ice this morning. Also your driveway/sidewalk may be slippery so take care there as well.
We should see some more clouds and the possibility for some light snow around midday today.
I am not expecting any additional accumulations from this last wave of energy moving by us today.
Remember, the wind is still going to be strong from the northwest today with sustained winds at 15-20mph and gusts up to 30mph. This wind will keep our wind chill factor close to 25 degrees in the afternoon. Tonight the wind should begin to let up and tomorrow we should only have a west wind at 5-10mph. More sunshine is in our forecast for Monday with highs back in the 40s.
Enjoy your Sunday!
