A Chill In The AirFebruary 9th, 2013 at 8:54 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
We are looking at a dry weekend ahead, but it’s still going to be cold today.
That strong northwest wind along with temperatures in the 30s will keep our wind chills in the 20s for the morning. This afternoon once temperatures finally climb to the 40s the wind chill factor won’t be as cold.
The large storm near Maine today will continue to drop an additional 12″ of snow for the area along with winds around 50mph. Some areas have already seen 1-2ft of snow from this storm and drifts around 4ft tall thanks to the strong winds. For us we won’t see winds as intense but it will still be breezy.
This afternoon the wind should not be as strong, but we really won’t see calmer conditions until tonight.
Overnight we should see wind speeds around 5mph from the north. There is only one problem with this; Clear Skies + Calm Wind + Low Humidity = Cold AM Temperatures for Sunday. Our lows will be near 30 on Sunday morning.
For Sunday we should have highs in the low 50s, we should continue to warm up on Monday with a high near 61.
Enjoy your weekend!
