Snow Is Trying!

Well there’s a lot of snow out there.  Unfortunately, for the now lovers, it is evaporating before it hits the ground.   Here was the view from Super Doppler 10 earlier this morning.  It looked very impressive, but again the snow was having trouble reaching the ground.

Super Doppler 10

Due to the dryness, there will be many areas that don’t have snow on the ground this morning.  So far we have had reports of over an inch over parts of the Eastern Shore.  There has been some decent snow on the Northern Neck and the Middle Peninsula.  We’ve had varying reports of it over the Peninsula and Southside, but generally it has been light.  The snow will keep working on the dry air and eventually we’ll get more of the scattered snow showers to reach the ground.  Here is my latest snow forecast.  It isn’t much different from yesterday, but a little:

Today’s Snow Forecast

We may amend this in the next hour or two based off of the surface reports. We still don’t think this will be a big event for the metro, but some schools do have closings or delays on the Middle Peninsula and Eastern Shore.

We still expect snow on Friday.  That could be messy.  But let’s get through this morning first.  We can outline Friday’s weather later today.
