Hot Weekend!January 10th, 2013 at 8:13 am by Jeremy Wheeler under Weather
Ok maybe hot is an exaggeration, but this upcoming weekend is going to be very and unseasonably warm. Yesterday was very warm. Highs were in the upper 60s. Today we will have a northeast wind picking up at 10-15mph with gusts up to 20mph near the shore. So high temperatures will only rise to the low/mid 50s.
Tomorrow a more southeasterly wind will develop. This will allow the temps to rise back up to near 60. We’ll also have a few late day showers. Saturday will have highs well into the 60s. Then on Sunday we are calling for some low 70s. The record for Sunday is 75 set back in 1890. So we’ll see what happens. The first half of next week looks wetter with a gradual drop in temps. The GFS model has been showing some heavy rain for next Tuesday into Wednesday. We’ll be able to outline that more as it gets closer.
