I’m Baaack! Miss Me?

Well I’m back from my trip to Illinois.  Did you miss me?  We ended up driving instead of flying.  While going up we hit some heavy snow in West Virginia.  Coming back we hit heavy snow in Pennsylvania and Maryland.  While we were there there wasn’t too much snow on the ground, but enough to have a White Christmas.  So that was nice.  I had some pictures to show, but my email isn’t working.  Maybe I can throw them in later today.

As for the forecast…We’ll see increasing clouds today with a southwest breeze at 10-15mph.  This should help the temps climb out of the 20s and into the upper 40s to low 50s.  I’m not expecting any rain today.  This evening the weather should be fine for any New Year’s Eve events.  It will be mostly cloudy with temps in the low 40s.  The winds will die down to almost nothing tonight.

Tomorrow rain showers will move in from the west.  We’ll see about a quarter up to a half inch of rain through the region.  It should fall as light and steady.  No storms are expected.  Some of the showers may linger into Wednesday morning.  if that happens then we could catch a flake or two of snow mixing in with the showers.  This would happen around sunrise Wednesday.  No models are showing much of anything at that time though.  We’ll be dry and chilly on Wednesday.  The models do have some rain in North Carolina on Thursday.  It’s possible that Thursday night that some of that could scoot a little farther north.  If that happens, then a little wintry mix is again possible.  The trusty European model is actually very dry at that time though.  So stay tuned to see if there are any updates.

Have a safe New Year’s Eve tonight.

What is now your winter weather forecast

About the same as before PT. Snow chances will pick up now with January and February upon us. We have a pretty progressive pattern and there is a good snowpack building across the Midwest and Northeast states. Odds are that we’ll probably see a pretty good-sized snow in the next 2 months. There has been a lot of moisture around recently. All we need now is the cold air. Jeremy

So I guess it’s good I got a snow shovel for Christmas?
I am a little excited that we will see some snow this year.
