Some Rain on this Christmas Eve
A weak low pressure center is going to give us some rainfall this afternoon and evening. Rain totals should be less than a quarter of an inch for most of us.
All of the rain that we will see should be ahead of the cold front. The front will push through around midnight tonight. Tomorrow for Christmas Day should be brighter with more sunshine and temperatures in the mid to lower 50s for highs.
High pressure should gift us with some sunshine and light winds tomorrow. It will only be calm like this for a day as another large storm system will develop and bring in some rain for us on Wednesday. Right now the timing of this next storm will be in the morning on Wednesday. We will start that day with wind speeds increasing and rain moving in from the southwest. By the evening it looks like we will see most of the rain over us.
Lots of wind with gusts around 30mph and rain totals easily over 1 inch will be possible with this storm. We will begin to dry out on Thursday.
Surf Update:
Not much clean/decent surf is in the forecast for the next two weeks. There may be a 2-4ft wind swell from this storm, but it will likely be messy out there.
Have a Merry Christmas!

just a curiosity is it cold enough to snow this upcoming saturday ? i have heard that the models can’t decided if the next storm would be a snow or rain event.
so is it possible that hampton roads (WILLIAMSBURG) might get some snow?
