Maybe A Few Thunderstorms Tonight

December 20th, 2012 at 12:54 pm by under Weather

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of Severe Weather of areas across the South-side of Hampton Roads and areas in to North Carolina.  We may see some thunderstorms develop as a cold front moves across our area.

The chances are still very low for anything severe in our area since we still have very cool and dry air across our region. What is the most likely thing to occur is we see some gusty winds from any of the rain or storms that pass by. The computer models still keep wind speeds around 20mph overnight with gusts up to 40mph tomorrow. The rain is then going to be moving out quickly tomorrow morning and we should see some clearing in the middle of the day.

We will keep an eye on the situation and let you know if anything changes later today or tonight.
