Some Rain This WeekendDecember 15th, 2012 at 8:56 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
We had a cold morning as most of us actually had clear skies overnight. Lows were in the low 30s all across the Tidewater area and many of us even had frost. Now for the day, we will see lots of clouds as our highs are going to be in the mid-50s.
What is going to bring us the rain is the warm front which is still in South Carolina today. In most cases while the warm front will help to warm us up, it can also create a large area of lift in the atmosphere. Sometimes that may only mean clouds, but when there is enough moisture, rain develops. That is what we’ll see start early tomorrow morning.
Future Trak has showers in our area starting as early as 6am tomorrow. We’ll continue to see chances for rain for the mid morning hours. We might see a break in the middle of the day, but then more rain will return in the afternoon. At this point, just expect a wet day tomorrow with rain totals around the 0.25 to 0.50 inch mark by the time this is done. On Monday we may also see some scattered showers before the cold air pushes in on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Have a great weekend!
