Quick Monday Update

December 10th, 2012 at 8:49 am by under Weather

Hello all.  Happy Hanukkah everyone.  It’s hard to watch the holiday specials when you are sitting in your living room in shorts and a t-shirt.  Course that’s exactly what I did yesterday while the family watched Frosty the snowman.  So I was going to write a lengthy blog about the warm temperatures, but I saw that Tiffany Savona wrote a good-sized blog last night that covered a lot of the forecast.  I will add another graphic that she created last night, but I won’t add much.  The pic shows the high temperatures so far for this December.

December High Temps So Far

Notice how there was only one day below average.  Today will also be very warm with highs in the mid 70s.  We will cool down tomorrow as a strong cold front moves through.  An offshore low is expected to form tomorrow along the stalled front.  It will stay offshore, but will produce some scattered showers on Wednesday as it moves north.  That will also be the coolest day in the next 7 days with highs near 50.

Sorry snow-lovers.  No snow here.  At least not yet.  There may be something developing around next Tuesday, but it’s way too early to put stock in that.  Stay tuned!

Will the weather continue to stay mild? Or will it get colder? What are our chances for snow this winter?

It will get colder soon Stephanie. I’d say we have a better chance for snow than last year. Especially after Christmas through mid January. We’ll see. Jeremy.
