Overall A Good Weekend!

The weekend is shaping up to be pretty nice overall.  Yesterday, we had a taste of Winter with highs in the mid-upper 40s.  Wind chills were in the 30s at times.  Today we will warm up despite ample cloud cover.  Highs will be near 60.  We actually started warming up last night as the clouds rolled-in.  Temps bottomed out in the mid 30s, and then rose to the 40s before sunrise.  We had a couple of sprinkles around the Northern Neck and Eastern Shore, but it wasn’t much of anything.  Later today we will have enough moisture to try to squeeze out a couple of sprinkles and/or light showers over the rest of Hampton Roads.  This is an update from yesterday.  Our model (Future Trak) is showing a few of the showers starting up a little before 3pm.

On Monday we’ll have even warmer temperatures with highs in the low 70s, but the rain chances go up.  The next strong cold front will come by on Monday night and drop the highs to the 50s for Tuesday.

On another note… According to Accuweather, the National Hurricane Center is now going to change how they do their hurricane warnings.  This was due to the affects and feedback from Sandy.  Here is a link to that article: Accuweather/NHC.
