LMF: It’s Christmas Time…December 4th, 2012 at 10:56 am by Kyle Bloom under THRS Live Music
We are right smack in the middle of the holiday season..the time for giving and spending time with loved ones and the time of year that we switch your radio to the all-Christmas channel. I’ll admit that I do the same, patiently waiting for Wham’s Last Christmas to come on only to be disappointed when the Glee version comes on. In any case, we all have our favorite Christmas or holiday tunes and a couple of our local artists have gotten into the spirit and released their own jolly jingles.
Hiptastic extraordinaire K’bana Blaq has released his version of Jingle Bells…but with a twist. It’s a groovy and funkdified version of the classic and since it’s the time for giving, K’bana is giving it to you for FREE. Click here to get your copy.
Kishi Bashi just released an original Christmas tune called “It’s Christmas But It’s Not White Here In Our Town” and it’s available in a lovely flake shaped flexi. Limited to 1000 copies, these fun little nuggets are available to you for whatever you want to pay. Whether it’s a buck or 50, all of the proceeds go to Ear Candy Music Charity, which uses the funds to supply underfunded music education programs with refurbished musical instruments. Click here to pick up your copy and check out the tune below.
It’s beginning to look a lot like a new tradition. Our friends in Holly Would… are hosting their 3rd Annual Holiday Party at The NorVa this Friday. The boys are bringing along On The Bright Side, mOcean, D-Price, Cooper’s Landing and What Looks Like Crazy for the fun and tickets are going fast. There are two options for you to choose from: $10 for regular general admission and a limited number of VIP packages for $25. VIPs get access to the VIP areas, a pre-show acoustic performance from the band, dinner with guys, a swag bag and an after show meet and greet. Again, that’s all for $25. Check out their Facebook page to see where you can get your tickets.
That’s it for me. I’ll check back with you tomorrow and don’t forget to SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
