Folks will be out and about over the next few days whether they are traveling, shopping, or even just working. Luckily we will have some nice weather over the next few days. Today we are starting with lots of sunshine. We were hoping for clearing late yesterday, but it didn’t happen until last night. That allowed the temperatures to drop to the upper 30s to mid 40s. Today the sun will warm things up to the mid-upper 50s with a few 60s inland. In fact there is a large area of high pressure that will provide nice weather for almost the entire eastern half of the United States:
There is a weak area of low pressure well offshore. It won’t have any influence on our weather today. However, tomorrow it will gain strength and drift back to the west. This may throw a brief shower in the direction of the southern Outer Banks in the morning, but that’s about all we expect for rain. The main effect is that the winds will pick up out of the northeast. The winds may even gust up to 25-30mph near the shore. That will also, once again, create some nuisance to minor tidal flooding during high tide.
The high pressure area will build-in on Friday and push the low farther out to sea. That will allow for the winds to shut down and a warmup to occur. Temperatures will start in the 40s and end in the low 60s. So it will be fine weather for Black Friday. By Friday night a strong cold front will move through and begin to drop the temps. We may be a stay shower early on Saturday, but the rest of the forecast is dry. Highs will only be in the low 50s on Saturday and upper 40s on Sunday. Lows will be back in the 30s.
Just an FYI…If you think that it has been abnormally cold lately, then you are correct. There have only been about 2-3 days with highs above normal in the last month. I don’t mind the cooler air, but some more 70s would be nice.
Unless something big develops, then we probably won’t blog tomorrow. Have a good Thanksgiving everybody.
