LMF: K’bana BlaqNovember 9th, 2012 at 1:16 pm by Kyle Bloom under THRS Live Music
It’s Friday and as you know Friday is my favorite day in the week that doesn’t begin with an ‘S’. Our Live Music Friday featured artist was the multi-talented K’bana Blaq and he performed two songs from his fantastic EP, The Boy Behind The Yellow Curtain. It was a special edition edition of The Hampton Roads Show as we welcomed Wendy Williams as our co-host for the day…and I’m surprised K’bana didn’t faint during his performance. Knowing that he is a big fan, I tried to keep it a secret until he came in but he found it. After many years with The Fuzz Band, K’bana is trying out the solo thing and expressing a new, acoustic side of him. The Boy Behind The Yellow Curtain is available on iTunes and he will be performing Thursday, November 15 at the West Hampton Community Center in Hampton. It’s a FREE show so there is no excuse why you shouldn’t go. You can check out his entire two song performance right here:
A bunch of great shows are on tap for this weekend including the reunion of Killroos at the NorVa tonight and the debut show of The Muzik Lounge tomorrow night at Chichos Chesapeake, which I will be at. Also I’m going to make it my mission to head over to the Dam Neck area of Virginia Beach to catch One Among Us headline a very rockin’ show at Geared Up rock bar. Hope to see your lovely faces out and about.
That’s it for me today. Next week I will have a preview of the upcoming Localpalooza that is happening all day next Saturday at the Oceanfront and the return of Like A Storm to the 757 and to The Hampton Roads Show stage. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
