Severe Weather Threat Going Down
A few showers are beginning to affect the western areas of Hampton Roads around lunchtime. The rain and the clouds have moved in a little bit earlier, so our heating will be limited. This means that the severe weather threat will be going down this afternoon. All of this shower activity has develop well ahead of the main cold front.
We still expect a line of showers and storms to develop along the front as it moves across our area over the next few hours. There could still be a few stronger storms out there, especially across the Southside and northeastern North Carolina where temperatures will be the highest. Rain will come to an end tonight as the front moves offshore. Cooler and drier air will move in behind this system keeping highs in the mid 60s Tuesday afternoon.
