LMF: New Kid On The BlockOctober 10th, 2012 at 11:13 am by Kyle Bloom under THRS Live Music
It’s that day that everyone has a nick name for that I hate: H–p Day. I’m also not the only that hates that term. Our short-timer, Kerri Furey, also dislikes that term and in honor of her, this will be the last time I refer to it. Now that we have that out of the way, Happy Wednesday! If you happen to follow me on Twitter (@TheBloomBoys) or are my FB friend, then you have seen that I recently conducted my first official interview with The Muzik Lounge. I also would like to welcome The Muzik Lounge and it’s founder, Steven Salazar into our awesome little club of local music supporters. The Muzik Lounge is a great site that features local artists from all genres and chocked full of interviews, reviews and events. They have also just announced their first live show. Saturday, November 10 at Chico’s in Chesapeake, Muzik Lounge will be hosting ‘The First Show’. Our friends from Aduro will be anointing The Muzik Lounge stage with TMG and Rekapse. Tickets are just $5 and I’m sure this will be the first of many great shows put on by Steven and the crew at Muzik Lounge. Check out my fine interview with them here.
As we all know, this area is really growing fast in original music and with that, more great sites and outlets devoted to supporting and spreading the word are popping up and this is all great news. I like to think of us as a big family and with one goal in mind: Getting these artists played and getting them the exposure that they greatly deserve. The music industry is a tough one especially for original artists trying to get their music played. Send your music to Crizti at 96X to get it played on The Local Music Show, send your show calendar to Grumbada’s, give Jay a call and have Soundcheck at your show, bang on the door of the apartment (or just email) of Your Music Show, sign up for the Sea Level Festival and send you stuff to Paul Shugrue to hear you tunes on Out Of The Box. We are all here for YOU and want to open that first door for you to get your hand crafted songs played!
To the music fan, get out there and SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC.
