Cooler, Wet…Is This What We Have Been Asking For?October 7th, 2012 at 8:53 am by Jeff Edmondson WAVY under Weather
The cold front did move through last night and I could not be happier. With temperatures cooling down we will see the mosquito population decrease. Yesterday, I was working on my car…and the bugs were not an issue until about 30 minutes in to my project. That is when the swarm arrived and made a peaceful job turn into a dance. During the day today I can’t forecast if the bugs will be bad or not, but I am expecting to see some more rain as we move in to the afternoon. The best chances for rain will be across Virginia.
Across the OBX you will see increasing clouds this morning and likely see the rain arrive during the afternoon. Temperatures for your area will be getting cooler and likely sticking near the 60 degree mark by tonight. For the rest of the area, temps will either be in the upper 50s or near 60 for a few of us. The rain totals by the end of the next 24 hours should be between 0.10″ and 0.5″ for Hampton Roads but up too 1″ for the Northern Neck where there still is a Moderate Drought!
It looks like we will see more rain from another storm system developing near Georgia today. That will swing through tomorrow afternoon, then we will begin to dry out on Tuesday. Highs might be back to 71 degrees on Wednesday.
Have a good Sunday!
