LMF: Rainy Days and Mondays
How could I not title today’s blog with this classic Carpenters song. It’s Monday and it’s rainy. Perfect choice. I hope your weekend was swell and speaking of swells, it’s ECSC week! The oldest surf competition in the nation is celebrating it’s 50th year and it’s bigger than ever this year. 10 blocks of surfing, volleyball, cornhole, flag football and, of course, music is taking the oceanfront over this week. Check out the blog tomorrow as I’ll preview the music of ECSC. A lot of great bands for you to check out and it’s all FREE!
Saturday I was out at The NorVa for the Buckcherry show where our very own Seven Ten Oil and One Among Us opened the show. Seven Ten started the night off with a heavy dose of rock and delighting the packed house with the tunes that have made them one of the must-see local bands. One Among Us hit the
stage next and the continued the high energy and electric buzz that Seven Ten started. Lead singer Ashley Phillips had mentioned how nervous and excited she was before the show but those nerves didn’t show as she took control of the crowd and turned them into One Among Us Nation. Las Vegas’ Otherwise took over and gained a ton of new fans with their bombastic rock and then the main event, Buckcherry stormed the stage and never looked back. A great show all around and our local acts definitely gained a lot of new fans.
Like I said earlier, I’ll have a preview of the music of ECSC tomorrow. Not one but two stages of music to keep your toes tapping in the sand. Stay dry out there and I’ll check you out tomorrow. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
