LMF: Your Favorite Coastline

The day has finally arrived, the day you dream of most when that alarm goes off Monday morning and the day where the hours in the office seem to go backwards:  It’s Friday or as our executive producer Mike Jantzen likes to note, “It’s Friday..all day”.  It’s also Live Music Friday and our guests today were the high energy rock of Your Favorite Coastline.  Lead singer Nate Weis and drummer Zach Church, both from Gloucester, formed the band last year with Virginia Beach guitarist Thomas Glantz and bassist Brian Zawacki.  So how did two parts Gloucester form a band with two parts Virginia Beach?  Well, they were all playing in other bands and sharing the stage at various shows when they decided to join forces and create Your Favorite Coastline.  Their debut EP, This Nightmare Called Love, is available now on iTunes.  You can see them perform tomorrow night at the Gloucester Summer Fest and on August 30 at Chicos in Chesapeake.  They will also be debuting their video for Happy Anniversary on iTunes August 28.  On the show today, they performed This Song Is All You’ll Ever Have and Actress.  If you missed it, as always, I got you covered.

One of my favorite bands, The Dharma Initiative, is playing tonight at Marker 20 in Hampton.  If you haven’t been to downtown Hampton especially Queens Way, I highly recommend it.  Great restaurants and bars and a great place to hear awesome local music.

Tomorrow is the big Buckcherry show with our locals One Among Us and Seven Ten Oil opening.  I’ll be out there and will give a recap of the show Monday and if you see me, don’t hesitate to say hi.

Big week next week for local music.  It’s ECSC Week at the Oceanfront and in addition to the great surfing, there will be great music.  Look for a full preview of the ESCS music lineup next week and I’ll be heading out there to cover the bands.

Have a great weekend everyone and I’ll catch up with you Monday.  SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC
