Nice….For One Day!
As predicted the storms yesterday brought some strong damaging winds. There were several reports of trees down around the Peninsula and along the Albemarle Sound in North Carolina.

Severe Storm Reports
There was a gust to 69mph at Langley Air Force Base as the storms came through. There are several photos of the storm damage that you can see on this slide show link: Damage Photos. These storms were out ahead of the cold front. That front moved through early this morning, and will make for a very nice day today. Highs will be in the mid-upper 80s, skies will be mostly sunny, the humidity will be lower, and the wind will be from the northeast at 10-15mph. It will be great. However, tomorrow the front will lift back as a warm front. High temperatures will jump about 10-13 degrees. So tomorrow we will see upper 90s with the heat index up over 105 in many cities. It will stay hot on Friday, but will cool down a bit for the weekend. Other than a stray shower early tomorrow and some scattered T’storms on Friday we won’t see much rain over the next few days.
