Over 4″ of Rain in Moyock Yesterday!
Slow moving thunderstorms were responsible for some very heavy rainfall across areas in North Carolina yesterday in the afternoon and evening.
A few areas even saw some temporary flooding in low lying areas.
Today we may see one or two popup storms in the afternoon still along that same boundary that brought us the heavy rain yesterday.
Warm air from the south and cool air from the north are moving towards each other along the stationary boundary. Since the air cannot go down into the ground it will begin to rise which will help to increase the chances for storms mostly across N.C. this afternoon. We might see a popup storm across the southside, but being further from the front the chances will be smaller. By the way, our temperatures today will be near 86, but as that front fades away we should see temps return to the 90s by tomorrow and Tuesday.
Have a good Sunday!
