Drought Monitor Update
The drought is improving across the southeastern portion of our country. Below is a comparison of the drought monitor from June 19th and now this week:
There has been a slight increase in the region which is abnormally dry across Virginia and North Carolina, and also an increase in Georgia. Look at the difference in Florida. Tropical Storm Debby brought some areas nearly 2 feet of rainfall which virtually eliminated the all-spring drought. Looking ahead in our next week we don’t really have any significant chances for rain, but we might see some daytime thunderstorms going into this hot and humid weekend.
