A Few Storms Possible Again Today

June 23rd, 2012 at 8:57 am by under Weather

Even though the cold front has begun to move across Hampton Roads we have not had much relief from the heat and humidity. The Front still has yet to pass through North Carolina. Today as the front slowly moves to the southeast we could see an afternoon shower or thunderstorm across the OBX and in NE N. Carolina. I am not expecting the same severe setup as we had yesterday.

Scattered Storms

Tomorrow our weather should be calmer thanks to a push if dry air and a small area of high pressure providing a stable atmosphere.

Down to the south we also have to keep our eyes peeled on a storm system gathering strength.

System To Watch

As of 9am this morning the National Hurricane Center has this area in a 90% chance of development. Might it be Debby? We will have to wait and see. The biggest level of uncertainty is where is this thing going to go. The GFS model brings it up the east coast next week around Thursday. The Canadian Model bring the storm towards New Orleans. The European model moves it towards Texas. So it will be something I’ll keep my eye on and let you know what this thing decides to do.

Enjoy your Saturday and stay cool.
