The end of Sales

My week in Sales are done and I definitely learned a lot!

Thursday:  On Thursday I sat got to work on a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity and threat) analysis on the Access part of Sweeps. After looking at the numbers for awhile your eyes start to blur. But the interesting part was analyzing what all the numbers meant for Wavy and for the other stations.

Friday: I got to to attend the Virginia Association of Broadcasters Conference in Virginia Beach. It helped me to learn about all the different aspects of broadcasting. The conference definitely reaffirmed my belief that local television news isn’t going anywhere for a very long time

Quote of the last two days :) : ” There is a level of trust that comes from local broadcast stations that can’t be replicated with national media. Broadcasters are a part of the community. Local broadcast television is where the world enters American lives”
