Another fantastic festival of music is lined up this weekend at Town Point Park in Norfolk for Harborfest 2012…or is it OpSail 2012…or both..wait, I’m confused.  Anyone else confused?  Well, I’m here to break it down for you…sort of.  OpSail 2012 is pretty much a collection of military ships from around the world touring different East Coast ports commemorating the bicentennial of the War Of 1812.   It just so happens it is in town the same weekend as Harborfest.  Still confused?  Think of it as a super-sized Harborfest. Now on to the music, which is part of Harborfest.

Now with it being Harborfest XL.  There are 4 stages spread out all across the waterfront of Norfolk.  I’m going to break it down for you.  The main stage is located in Town Point Park closest to the Waterside side.  This is where your national headliners are going to be. The Boat House stage is also at Town Point Park but on the Nauticus side.  This is the place to see the best local bands with a sprinkling of national acts.  The Front Street stage is located on, you guessed it, Front Street.  Front Street is located in the Fort Norfolk area.  More great local acts and military bands will be gracing this stage.  The final stage is the MHI stage located in the West Ghent area off of Orapax St.  The sounds of the islands will fill this West Ghent neighborhood and this is where the ferris wheel will be.
