Wednesday I had my orientation for my new summer internship at WAVY TV 10. It was really exciting to see all of the things that we would be learning about and doing over the summer. This is my first internship, so I was pretty nervous and still have a touch of that anxiety, but after meeting everyone at the station I definately feel more relaxed about it and think that this summer is going to go just fine.

I had a touch of celebrity shock when I spotted Don Slater on the floor of the studio recording a clip for the promotion of a hurricane readiness guide. I used to aspire to become a weather woman and grew up watching Don deliver the weather to my household from a very young age. So that was really neat. I hope that we get to work just a little bit with the weather team. Even though I am not studying meteorology I would love to be able to see what they do behind the scenes.

Overall I am very excited for this internship and can’t wait to get started! My first week I will be in the News Department. I really love how you get to experience all the departments along the way. That will help me decide what I am most interested in for the future. Today is my first day and I am really excited and I’d have to lie if I said I wasn’t just a tad bit nervous.
