Cold For One More Day
I don’t like to dwell too much on past weather, but I had a couple of neat photos to share from this weekend’s snow. It did snow 1-2″ between Gloucester county and the Eastern Shore. This allowed for a bit of sledding by the Dunlap family on Saturday:

Sledding In Gloucester
This was sent in from Melinda, and it shows her 2 grandaughters having fun in the snow. The next and last photo came in from a viewer. Probably Lisa or Joann according to the email address. It was so cool, that I had to share:

King Neptune In The Snow
How bout that King Neptune not budging for the Winter Blast. Well he is a statue after all. Remember, if you have any photos then please send them to reportit@wavy.com. Even if I don’t post them here, then you may see them elsewhere on our site wavy.com.
So on to today. We started with temperatures in the teens and 20s this morning.

Temperatures This Morning
We will have a lot of sunshine and a west wind today. This along with bone-dry air will allow the temperatures to warm up into the mid 40s. So some locations will see a rise of 20-25 degrees between this morning’s lows and this afternoon’s highs. Still I would call today chilly. Tonight we will see an increase in clouds and a light southwest wind. So it shouldn’t be as cold as this morning. Lows will be in the low 30s. Tomorrow for Valentine’s Day we will have lots of clouds and a slight chance for a shower. We will, however, see some warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the mid 50s. Any rain tomorrow will be very spotty, so I think the love-birds will mostly be ok. Most of the paper hearts should remain dry, but just watch out for that spotty shower. We’ll be in the upper 50s Wednesday, and then 60 on Thursday. We will have a pretty good chance for rain on Thursday. No more snow in the forecast. At least not yet.

Feb 19-20 looks like it could be interesting….possible significant snow from DC to Northern NC “IF” it happens….something to keep an eye on!!!
Definitely worth watching. The models will probably flip around a bit, but I’ll keep a close eye on it. I’ll write a fresh blog soon.
Jeremy
Hey Jeremy, just wondering what you’re thinking so far on the models for this coming Sunday. I know that’s still super far away in the weather world, but it certainly looks a little interesting. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed, haha.
Hi Jeff. Yeah, I’ve got my eye on it that’s for sure. It was a pretty wild swing in the models since yesterday, but they all showed it. Now the 6z run of the GFS has nothing. The models will go back and forth (probably), but it’s definitely worth watching. The 12z run of the GFS will have more weight to it. Jeremy
