Mild Temps Tonight, Showers and Storms Friday

January 26th, 2012 at 3:42 pm by under Weather

We had those clouds roll in after the lunch hour today which put a cap on the temperatures. This evening cloudy skies are what we should count on to dominate our skies. With the clouds we are going to stay very warm this evening with lows in the 50s across most of the region. In fact, tomorrow will be another warm January day, but rainfall is expected to move in with a passing cold front.

Friday morning’s commute into work as the front arrive might be a mess across Hampton Roads. Now I’m not expecting any flooding or much in terms of severe weather, we could see gusty winds up to 35mph, periods of heavy downpours, and even some lightning. As the cold front pushes the storms over the Atlantic into the afternoon clearing skies will result behind the front thanks to cooler and drier air moving in.

As we go into our weekend the pattern is still looking stable and dry, but colder. Highs this weekend will be in the mid 50s on Saturday and low 50s on Sunday.

Get that Umbrella ready for tomorrow!

What time could we expect the rain and storms to push out tomorrow

The rain looks to push out by 2-3pm Megan. Maybe just a stray lingering shower after that.
