Walk for babies: Day 2

April 28th, 2011 at 7:49 pm by under Personalities

Before the severe weather, there was this beautiful sunrise…this was the view Jimmy and I had on the Hampton Highway as we walked through York county this morning. We started in Newpport News at Patrick Henry Mall, crossed into Yorktown, then Hampton…and then back to Newport News until we reached the James River Bridge !

At the Langley Federal Credit Union a nice crowd braved the winds and ominous skies to come pick up a T-Shirt, some of Jimmy’s parody CD’s and just show their support for the March of Dimes.   A funny little four year old named John  taught me how to play corn hole and took a few FOX43 and WAVY TV pencils for kindergarten next year!

Tomorrow is the big one…20 miles…trying not to think about 6 hours of walking.. instead I’ll just think about the sunrise in beautiful Isle of Wight County…the view from the Mills Godwin Bridge  in Suffolk, and the satisfaction of knowing we’re doing something to help the March of Dimes.  You can help too! Join us Sunday morning for the March for Babies in Virginia Beach!
