Progressive Pattern
Over the next few days we will see a fairly progressive weather pattern. This means that systems will begin to move through the region rather quickly. This is the opposite of a blocking pattern where areas of high or low pressure will sit for days on end. The effect is going to be periodic chances for rain and temperatures will fluctuate from day to day. We’ll see some days with highs in the 80s and other days where highs will be in the upper 60s. Tomorrow a weak area of low pressure will sit move offshore. This will bring us a chance for showers and give us a cool ENE wind. So highs will be in the upper 60s to near 70. We’ll get a warmup on Wednesday ahead of the next cold front. Highs will go from near 80 on Wednesday afternoon to low 70s (maybe upper 60s) on Thursday. Then warm again for Friday. Even these numbers may change as models have a tough time with fast-moving/progressive systems. So expect adjustments in the timing of all these features.
