Labor Day Rain?

This was sent in by Jim Brickett this morning. It’s a sunrise shot of the Western Branch section of Chesapeake. Today should be nice with partly cloudy skies. A few showers though around Hatteras, N.C. This is closer to a stationary front which lies offshore. This front will lift northward tonight along with a weak area of low pressure. This will increase our rain chances for tomorrow. The forecast has been trending wetter for Labor Day over the last 48 hours. We’ll also see an east/northeast breeze pick up starting with today. Today winds northeast 10-15mph. Tomorrow winds will be ENE 10-20mph with gusts to 25mph near the shore. Sorry I don’t have better news for vacationers, but at least we had gorgeous weather yesterday and pretty nice weather is expected today. It was especially great for yesterday’s local football games including ODU’s first football game in decades.

Will we ever get a break from all of this rain? I’d like to see about two weeks of dry weather for a change.
