Bad Hair Day? Blame the Dewpoint.

May 26th, 2009 at 5:41 pm by Cheryl Nelson under Weather

If your hair hasn’t been perfect lately, you’re not alone.  The dewpoint measures the amount of moisture in the atmosphere: the higher the number, the more uncomfortable we feel.  The higher the dewpoint, the more difficult it becomes to tame our hair.

Here’s a “dewpoint decoder” that I came up with:

< 60     Comfortable

60-65  A Bit Muggy

65-70  Quite Humid

> 70     Oppressive

Over the past few days dewpoints have been in the quite humid/oppressive categories.  The best thing to do to try to beat the humidity is to drink plenty of water and stay indoors in the air conditioning if possible.  To fix a bad hair day, we can try hair spray, unless you have any other ideas?  Relief is on the way, but not until the weekend.

Do you have a secret for fixing a bad hair day?   Post a reply and let us know.  Thanks!  :)
