Pick Up Our 2009 Hurricane Ready Guide
The start of the 2009 hurricane season is June 1st. If you haven’t purchased hurricane supplies, this is the week to do it in Virginia. May 25-31 is tax-free week on certain items used for hurricane preparedness. For a complete list of eligible items, go to http://www.tax.virginia.gov/Documents/2009%20Hurricane%20Preparedness%20List%20of%20Exempt%20Items.pdf
For more on how you can prepare for hurricane season, pick up our 2009 Hurricane Ready Guide at one of these locations: Farm Fresh, Geico, R.S. Andrews, or Harrison’s Moving and Storage. Our guides feature a hurricane tracking chart so you can plot the storms with us.
Hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to all the brave men and women who have served and who are serving our country.

With Hurricane Season upon us, where on the net are Hurricane evacuation routes posted? Where dowe go for safety?
Hi Rosemary,
Thanks for your comment. You can find evacuation routes on our webpage at http://www.wavy.com/subindex/weather/hurricane. Scroll down to “Road Conditions and Evacuation Routes,” and you should find everything you need.
Thanks!

I am a member of Poquoson’s CERT, Community Emergency Response Team, and we are having a community awareness day in Poquoson on June 6. Your Hurricane Guide is so complete that we would like to distribute it at our display on hurricane preparedness. Is there anyway we can get about 150 copies of it?
I’d be happy to pick them up if they are available. If we have any that we don’t use, I can add them to our local Farm Fresh supply. Please let me know, 868-6720, ok to leave message or rpweston@juno.com
