What’s That Spell?

minotaur-contrails

Just kidding!  While this may look like a drunken pilot tried to write smoke words in the sky, it is actually from the contrails of the rocket that was sent up last night from Wallops Island.  The winds aloft weren’t that strong, but they were from different directions.  This photo was taken from a Mr. Hunt in Virginia beach last night.  It was quiet weather then, it should stay quiet for a while.

The models have been drying out the weekend.  It’s looking pretty good for Saturday through Monday.  A stray pop up shower or storm is possible, but the odds are slim.  However, we still want to keep an eye on the system in the Gulf of Mexico.  It’s an upper level low, but the water temperatures are getting warmer.  I wouldn’t be surprised if it develops into something tropical.  We’ll see.  Still I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a good weather weekend.  I think we’ve earned it after last weekend.
