Did You See This?
If we printed out all the photos that people sent in last night, then the paper would probably weigh 200lbs. (Slight exageration). So we can only show so many. See the previous blogs for the discussion about the storms. Before you do check out these beauties:

This was a common sight yesterday evening. Lots of tall clouds with dark shelf clouds underneath. This was taken by Christopher Bolton around the Damneck area of Virginia Beach.

This one was a really wierd cloud. It looked like a shelf cloud, but it was so low that one could argue that it was a wall cloud. This was taken by Captain Brett around Chincoteague. It kind of looks like what stormchasers call a Beavertail. That is what it is… a cloud that looks like a beaver’s tail. It is a moisture inflow that usually doesn’t have any rotation. Hard to say what it really was though.

The last photo was taken from our friend Jim Brickett from around Lynnhaven Inlet. There were constant lightning strikes at times. It was pretty crazy for a while. Again check out the previous posts to see more details and compare to the forecasts. Plus there are other photos on this site.
Today should be a lot more quiet. Some scattered storms are possible later tonight. A chance tomorrow too, but scattered and not all day. Don’t forget Sunday is Mother’s Day.
