Rough Day

We had a lot of severe weather warnings today, but we don’t have reports of widespread damage. We had some large hail reported on the Eastern Shore and around Matthews county. We may have had a tornado around Sunbury, but that was an unnoficial report. We also had some damage to some cars around downtown Newport News.
We ended up pulling in the deep moisture this morning after all. That was surprising since yesterday we had dewpoints in the upper 30s to lower 40s (super dry). Today dewpoints got into the 60s. We also had a lot of strong winds upstairs which sometimes came down to the ground in strong wind gusts. That was expected. The threat is diminishing now and we’ll see sunshine for later this afternoon.

yes it was a rough day. I was driving across the James River Bridge and swa a funnel cloud. It was horriable, It was so hard yto see to drive that the max speed that I could drive was 30mph. It was scary, dark, windy and pouring down the rain. I thought I was never going to get across the bridge. I took a picture and sent it in but I do not know mwhwere to find it. I sent it in from my cell phone.which would have came from 757-303-5984. I would like to know how I can view my picture along with others. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter.

I think you all did a wonderful job with keeping us updated with today’s weather as well as you do everyday. You guys are the greatest. I always watch wavy 10. I have since I was a little girl and that been at least 40 years now. Keep up the GREAT work.
